(November 18, 2002) - Oracle Corporation has been elected a member of Eclipse, an open-source consortium that creates an open platform for development tools integration. As a voting member of the Eclipse Board of Stewards, Oracle will help create and define policies, standards, and the collaboration environment for Eclipse. Oracle joins 21 other Eclipse member companies.

Oracle joins 21 other Eclipse member companies. Ted Farrell, architect and director of Strategy, Application Development Tools Division at Oracle, will serve on the Eclipse Board of Stewards. "Oracle is hoping to give Eclipse developers the benefit of that experience through integration with the Oracle platform and support and synchronization with the Java standards," said Farrell.
