又看了一下上下文，好像没有其他的意思。
就是“机顶盒”

I think it's more of a sealed box, like xbox. I would sense a firmware thing.

set-top boxes usually refer to hardware decoders, such as cable TV boxes,satillite receivers, or digital TV recorder (TiVO, RePlay) etc. Like floater said, it is more to do with embedded device programming or real-time programming.
