OS:win2000
Webmethods 6.1.5
Oracle 920 as repository database on the same machine with webmethods
and I have changed the server.bat script to :
set JAVA_MIN_MEM=1024M
set JAVA_MAX_MEM=1280M
But I find the DEVELOPER UI runs very slowly,
call the service with java client from anyother machine ,
It need 30 seconds to connect to the IS and 60 seconds to invoke the service and 30 seconds disconnect IS .

1、webMethods IS运行是比较耗内存的，而且你还要运行Oracle9i，2G内存可能比较吃紧，有4个2.8G CPU的机器，如果能再加2G内存，性能会有很大的提高。

2、Developer UI是运行在Client端的，它的快慢和你Client的配置有关系，一般我们推荐做开发的机器至少要512M内存。

3、IS用默认方式装好之后会带很多Package，但一般一个项目只需要用到其中的几个，你可以在Admin界面里把你不需要用的包Disable掉，这样会快很多。

你是打算研究一下webMethods，还是有项目要上？
如果是webMethods的客户或者Partner可以到http://advantage.webmethods.com 找到Support

Tune up the OS 2. Tune up the Services 3. Tune up wM IS (Startup Services)

You should at least think the following environments if you are doing a serious WM project for production. (1). Personal dev env for developers, plus CM hardware (2). Integration and QA envs (3). Produciton env. Hope this help
