Posted by: collins Posted on: 2003-07-02 18:49 对，翻译得不好，大家见笑了。我对设计模式和架构设计非常有兴趣，这篇文章是偶然发现的，浏览一遍，当时就觉得很好，就打算仔细学习学习，为保证学习质量，就重新看了一遍，并翻译了出来。并在工作中应用了其中的模式，效果不错。

why hasn't read it yet, gave you a credit. I follow his foot steps, give you one more for the chinese translation(I didn't read chinese version either, hehe). Kidding!

I read the english version. The ideas in the article have been around for years already(I have almost the same code in production for 4 years already, so at least 4 years old). It seems the article is July 2003, hmm...

These are the brilliant spots in OO, design patterns and framework. Learn them and use them(They save me a lot of time so I can sit here and write, Big Smile

).

These are also touched in Expert One-on-One book(Hehe, I mentioned it again, like an old woman, darn). But that book has a better treatment on configurations, using javabean(and reflection too).

One thing the author doesn't do the good job is the XML configuration file.
Using an XML(or any tree structure file) file for configurations is a crazy idea, I don't know how it gets into the way. If you have a simple typo in XML, the whole tree collapses. So the content of a XML file *is* interdependent and the end result is pretty much like MS registry. So I prefer to use properties(and I won't have the issue at all: If I have a typo, only that entry is invalid, so the typo is pretty much isolated). XML is designed for machine communication, not for human reading at all(although it's readable). So the bottom line is to use small-size XML files for config(so we isolate potential meltdowns).

Good work and especially for translation(a lot of work).
