I have ever use notepad, jbuilder, va, eclipse, idea.
now mainly use eclipse technologies centered and plus wsad+clearcase(some project with cvs)+clearquest+ XDE(now studying together4wsad since xde doesn't support wsad5 and who knows when it will be available).

I find that eclipse is collecting all the best practices from other ides and constructing a perfect Integrated Lifecycle Development Environment.

the only shortcome of eclipse is that it might be not easy to use at first. but just stick to it for some time and you will find you have made the right decision.

I conclude that eclipse is the best choice for now

ok.
eclipse不用多说，大家用一用就知道它的好处了。不过有一点是控件奇多，选一套完整好用的搭配需要摸索。也可以用wsad5免不少麻烦，缺点是太慢，512M以下劝你别玩。

Clearcase是一个很不错的配置管理工具，跟eclipse无缝集成，就是概念有些复杂，server的破解有问题（我用的是LT正式花钱版，流行的那个破解不能用，那位高手破解了请不吝赐教），适合大团队的开发。辅以clearquest提供了完整的软件配置管理方案，缺陷管理跟踪，UCM活动任务分配管理，能达到一种比较完美的管理控制境界--项目经理制定计划（project2000），然后导入到clearquest中，然后定义开发的工作流程步骤，再把这些任务和相关的设计文档、要求分配给团队各个成员，各成员打开工作环境可以看到自己要做的工作（活动），在eclipse环境下coci，rebase，deliver，直到完成任务，工作流流转到下一个节点（如：测试、审核、校验等）；若缺陷发生，可以在任何地方由任何人用浏览器提交缺陷汇报，然后再到开发团队走刚才描述的流程。

cvs也非常好用，而且免费，NT下也可快速搭建server，跟eclipse集成的也不错，我一般工作使用Clearcase，自己或跟同事做点小东西用cvs。

eclipse提供了一个通用的平台，在这个平台上可以开发编程相关的任何应用，搭建成一个完整的生命周期开发环境，XDE,TWSE的加入就是要完善ALM的重要的一步。

sorry for my unclear description. coci means check in and check out, which are programmer's routine operations under a SCM(software configuration management) environment.
rebase, deliver are the concepts of clearcase that is seamlessly integrated with eclipse. The combination of clearcase and clearquest provides a complete SCM and basic process control solution. But its concepts and tools are difficult to master. While CVS is much easier to understand and use, so if your team has no clearcase, cvs is a fairly good choice and bugzilla could be also a replacement of clearquest.
