J2SE Version 1.4.2_01 will be released with two new features:

* Auto Java Update
* Windows Install from the Web

Grab the chance to help Sun test these two Java software features starting June 23 through July 11, 2003 plus the chance to get a cool T-shirt. Testing will include downloading, installing, and updating a test version of the J2SE Java Runtime Environment (JRE) v5.5.5.

Posted by: why Posted on: 2003-06-28 10:31 By participating in this testing, you are eligible to enter a random drawing for a new Java t-shirt. This Java Update feature mimics M$ Automatic Update. But Install didn't work properly when GetRight is running in the background.

Posted by: why Posted on: 2003-08-19 10:32 Me and my friend received our T-shirts today. Another friend of mine in the West coast received hers last Thursday. The cup and "Sun Microsystems" are purple in color, not the blue as in the image.
