I am now using the alternative '[]' and '*[]' adornments for messages to indicate conditional execution, and iteration respectively.

I know "[]", but I use Rose, I feel it lost some UML spec, no standard "if else", or no for ,while group(I think it is difficult to express a group use "[]")....
so I leave these problems for later....(now I just use some notes)

I use local entity and a big mounts of dao.
I think read-only data all can express with dao, others I use entity bean..
but in fact I feel use local or remote is not a big problem, I think sun should think all these two kinds are good, it depend on what you think the system should be.

by the way, I think It is just 12 points in sequence diagram...
and class, component are all 44 points, so I feel it is so waste time to have details in sequence.....
I think the most important is compnont, lots of people lost more scores in compnont.

this question is strange,I found someone got 44 in componont,but he just have one componont diagram.

I think document are most important part.one guy got 100% have 10-12 pages.

These are not required. Stick to the standard UML notation
Use "Note" to show alternative flow. put a note say "below is alternative flow for xxx".
