found that most of the I18N question oriented with web page display. this work fine for me too.
however, i'm facing the problem to display those chinese character under english win2k. those character retrieved from DB become "?" even i used the following:
jtextfield.setText(new String( result.get(1).toBytes(), "Big5"));

i wonder whether i'm doing the wrong way in tranlating the result string or i need to do sth over Swing to let her display correct chinese font.

BTW, my environment is:
Win2K, JDK1.3.X
MSAccess -- JDBC-ODBC (from Sun) -- Swing

need chinese font support...
search for more detail.

thx. start search from google right now. i just knew that i must set the font explicitly for the JVM Tongue BTW, any good reference suggested?

i found that the major idea is to do the bytes<-->string convertion + setting font properties for JavaRunTime. am i on the right track? thx.

1.import your simsun font to Win2K.
2.follow your step.

BTW, i have found these chinese input method for JDK1.3.x while search about the chinese character stuff. hope these resource useful to you as well.
