Sun公司为了在业界内建立一套认证的标准，特别是针对最先进的科技，推出了Java及Solaris 技术认证方案。
Java认证考试
对于Java程序设计员，Sun推出两项认证：
　　Sun Certified Java Programmer(SCJP)：测验Java程序设计概念及能力，内容偏重于Java语法及JDK的内容；
　　Sun Certified Java Developer(SCJD)：进一步测试用Java 开发应用程序的能力，考试者必须先完成一个程序的设计方案，再回答与此方案相关的一些问题。
Solaris系统管理认证考试
对Solaris/Sun OS系统管理员，Sun推出Certified Solaris Administrator(CSA)。CSA分别为两个等级( Part I 和 Part II )，测试对Solaris 系统管理的了解程度。
Solaris网络管理认证考试
为了测试使用者对于Solaris网络管理能力，Sun推出Certified Network Administrator(CNA)。内容包括基本网络概念、Routing and Subnet、Security、Performance、DNS、NIS+ 等。

Sun Certified Java Programmer(SCJP) is the corner stone for other certificate. a.k.a In order to take further certificate, you need to pass SCJP first. So this is your first step to go.

And by the way, I passed my SCJP1.4 (a bit old though, you should think about 1.5 at the moment) when I was in the first year college. So don't be afraid, it is not very hard to pass.

I would say it depends on people because people various a lot. For some people, having an aim will greatly motivate them from learning something. But for others, they would motivate themselves even there is no such aim.

I would say having a certificate is better than not having one.

Posted by: Jcat Posted on: 2008-06-11 15:18 自己最擅长的、混饭吃的技术，靠实力、积累。次要的、辅助的技术，可以去整点认证，充充门面，长长见识。比如Java肯定是你的“真功夫”，认证就没必要考了。可以考虑考一些数据库 or 网络的认证。
