If you are preparing for SCEA part 2 assignment, can we have a discussion here? What approach do you use to interface with Frequent Flyer Mileage system? Screen scrapper?

The are lot of discussions on www.javaranch.com. in brief, screen scrapper is a common choice, but I worry about the transaction. if you consider DB solution, you may need to implement some business logic same as in FFMS.

If we implement the business logic similar to FFMS, it seems that the approach may contradict with CEO's interview, since he said that they are not going to rewrite FFMS in j2ee.

Any comment?

only few functionalities you need to re-write in your J2EE solution: agent/customer login, getMileage, redeemMileage and rewardMileage, anything else, all of the FFMS, nothing changes and can be used as is.
